Companion App
The companion app is the desktop app that connects your simulator to Project Carga while you are running a job.
Use the website to browse, accept, and review jobs. Use the companion app when you are ready to track an active MSFS or ETS2 run.
What It Does
The companion app:
- shows when your simulator is connected
- follows your active job while you fly or drive
- updates the live map while tracking is active
- confirms the journey was completed properly
- keeps tracking active while you move between Project Carga pages
Download and Install
Download the latest Windows installer from the Download Companion page.
After installation, open the companion app and sign in with your Project Carga account.
The bottom bar shows connection status for supported simulators. When a job is active, it can also show useful tracking information such as the current flight stage.
Using It With MSFS
For Microsoft Flight Simulator:
- Accept a pilot job.
- Open the companion app.
- Load into MSFS near the job origin.
- Open the Active Job page.
- Click Start Job before departure.
- Keep the companion app running until the job is complete.
For the full flow, see Pilots.
Using It With ETS2
For Euro Truck Simulator 2:
- Accept a trucker job.
- Open the companion app.
- Start ETS2.
- Take the matching in-game freight job.
- Attach the trailer.
- Click Start Job on the Active Job page.
- Keep the companion app running until delivery is complete.
The companion app installs the ETS2 telemetry plugin used for trucker job tracking. When ETS2 starts with the plugin in place, the game shows a warning message about the telemetry plugin. This confirms the plugin has loaded.
If ETS2 was already open, restart it after installing or updating the companion app.
For the full flow, see Truckers.
Moving Around Project Carga
You can navigate around Project Carga while a job is active.
As long as the companion app stays open and connected, tracking should continue. The dashboard and dispatch board can show a Continue Active Job link when you already have a run in progress.
If the companion app closes during a flight after you have departed, reopen it and return to the Active Job page. Project Carga can usually reconnect to the active job once the journey has begun.
If you accepted a job but had not departed yet, return to the origin and start the job again from the Active Job page.
Good Habits
- Open the companion app before starting a tracked job.
- Check the simulator connection status before departing.
- Start the Project Carga job before leaving the origin.
- Keep the app running until the job is complete.
- Update the companion app when Project Carga prompts you to download a new version.
