Truck tracking explains how ETS2 jobs appear on the live map while you are running a trucker job.

How Truck Tracking Works

Project Carga uses ETS2 job progress to show your truck moving between the job origin and destination.

Because ETS2 uses its own scaled world map, the live map does not trace every road, junction, or turn from the game. Instead, your truck is shown along a direct line from the origin depot to the destination depot.

This keeps truck movement consistent with the wider Project Carga map, where pilots, truckers, depots, airports, and Shared Hubs all appear together.

What Other Players See

While the companion app is connected and your trucker job is active, the live map can show:

  • your truck icon
  • the route origin and destination
  • your progress along the route
  • basic job information such as cargo and tonnage

The marker is a network view, not a turn-by-turn ETS2 road view. It is there to show that cargo is moving through the Project Carga world.

When Tracking Starts

Truck tracking begins after you start the Project Carga job from the Active Job page.

Before that, the companion app shows local ETS2 connection information, but the live map route begins after Start Job.

Practical Notes

  • Keep the companion app running while driving.
  • Use the matching ETS2 freight job for the Project Carga route.
  • Do not worry if the live map line does not match the exact ETS2 road you are driving.
  • Complete the delivery in ETS2, then return to Project Carga to finish the job.
