Flight Tracking
Flight tracking explains what other players see on the live map while you are running a flight sim job.
The companion app reads local simulator information before you start a job. Project Carga journey tracking and live map position updates begin after you click Start Job.

Flight Stages
For flight sim jobs, the companion app log and live map popup can show the current flight stage.
| Stage | What it means |
|---|---|
| Parked | The aircraft is on the ground, stationary, parked, and shut down. |
| Taxi | The aircraft is moving on the ground before departure, or preparing to depart. |
| Take Off | The aircraft is accelerating on the runway before becoming airborne. |
| Climb | The aircraft is airborne and climbing. |
| Cruise | The aircraft is airborne and level at cruise altitude. |
| Descent | The aircraft is airborne and descending. |
| Approach | The aircraft is preparing to land, usually lower or with landing gear down. |
| Landing | The aircraft has touched down and is rolling out. |
| Taxi In | The aircraft is moving on the ground after landing. |
These stages update during the flight as the companion app reads your simulator. They are there to make the live map easier to understand at a glance.
Stage labels are helpful, but they are not a checklist you need to watch every second. Keep the companion app connected and complete the flight normally; Project Carga records enough journey information in the background to confirm the run.
Live Map Activity
Aircraft are shown on the live map while the companion app is actively sending position updates.
If the companion app closes or stops sending updates, the aircraft marker disappears from the live map shortly afterwards. The pilot count and active routes count use the same active update window, so they only include pilots who are currently sending updates.

Start Job
Start Job is the point where Project Carga begins tracking the journey for the cargo network.
Before that, the companion app shows local simulator information, but your live map position and journey tracking begin after Start Job.
Reconnecting During a Flight
If the companion app closes or the page reloads after your flight is already under way, reopen the companion app and return to the Active Job page.
Project Carga can usually reconnect to the active job once the journey has begun. If you had accepted the job but had not departed yet, you may need to start it again from the origin.
Practical Notes
- Keep the companion app running while flying a Project Carga job.
- Click Start Job once you are loaded at the origin.
- If your simulator or companion app stops sending updates, your aircraft will drop from the live map shortly afterwards.
